The lineup for the latest chapter of Multicultural Arts Victoria’s (MAV) NEWPRINT program has been revealed, with an exciting group of new talent set to energise the state’s live music scene.
NEWPRINT offers professional development opportunities for music event producers from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
The first two programs supported 15 young producers to develop and deliver unique contemporary live music events throughout metro Melbourne, showcasing over 150 talented performing artists and creatives.
In addition to supporting and upskilling the group of emerging producers, the events support culturally and linguistically diverse artists and champion cultural diversity.
NEWPRINT 3’s lineup of producers are Urlik Mageza & Moz, Haja Kamara, Juan Pablo Salebe Rico, Akwal Magek and Mimi “Srirachi’ Bui.
Selected by a panel of local industry leaders - thndo, N’fa Jones, Neda Rahmani and Kily Safari – the new cohort will deliver 10 live music events between January and June 2025.
CEO of MAV Lauren Mullings said: “MAV is invested in supporting culturally diverse artists on their terms, providing spaces for artmaking, exchange, and nurturing of connections within a changing arts ecosystem. NEWPRINT 3 is a shining example of the cultural excellence that can emerge when new perspectives and cultural expressions are centred.”
