The Victorian Government is investing in our state’s revered music scene through the latest round of grants for musicians, music workers, music organisations and venues.
The 2026 rounds of the Music Works and 10,000 Gigs: The Victorian Gig Fund grants programs are being delivered through a new partnership between Creative Victoria and Music Victoria, drawing on the peak body’s music industry expertise and networks.
Open today, the 2026 Music Works program focuses on artists, music workers and music industry organisations and businesses. It offers grants across two streams:
- Activation: grants of $5,000 (fixed).
- Project: grants between $10,000 - $40,000.
Music Works supports activities such as songwriting, recording, marketing and touring, professional and business development. Grants are also available to support initiatives that increase diversity and accessibility in the music industry, for cross-industry collaborations and more.
Since 2015, the Music Works program has invested almost $13.5 million in more than 950 projects, supporting the careers of many amazing Victorian musicians such as Alice Skye, Kutcha Edwards, Jen Cloher, Amyl and the Sniffers and many more.
10,000 Gigs:The Victorian Gig Fund provides grants to live music venues to stage paid live music performances by Victorian artists. The program will be open to licensed live music venues and other venues that host live music gigs in Victoria.
More than 7,600 gigs by local artists have already been staged through 10,000 Gigs: The Victorian Gig Fund, since the program was launched in 2024.
