Games industry leaders, developers and players from across Australia and around the world will descend on Melbourne in October for the largest games industry event in the Asia Pacific, Melbourne International Games Week.

Melbourne International Games Week will feature more than 70 events from 4-12 October, from key industry conferences to an education summit to public events.
Showcasing Victoria as a global games industry hub, this year’s Games Week will again extend beyond the inner city, with events to take place in locations including Altona, Mulgrave and Narre Warren.
Australia’s foremost games industry professional development and networking event, GCAP (Games Connect Asia Pacific) features in-depth talks across various game development disciplines and career levels, alongside opportunities to build peer networks and make new connections, with even more opportunities for formal and informal networking.
Australia’s premier game audio conference, High Score, will return this year, presented by the Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) and Creative Victoria, to explore the relationship between composition, sound design and video game development.
Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre will once again be home to the biggest celebration of games and gaming culture in Australia, PAX Aus, featuring panels sessions, new game demos, tournaments and an expo hall filled with publishers and independent studios.
Careers + Frontiers is a one-day symposium designed for secondary and tertiary students, educators, career advisors, parents and gamers to explore the future of work in the games industry. The symposium will bring together local and international industry leaders to discuss diverse career pathways, with hands-on access to award-winning games and direct interaction with developers across artistic, technical, and innovation-driven disciplines.
Play Now Melbourne will return for its third year, connecting Australian game developers, with global publishers and investors. Presented by VicScreen, with support from the Victorian Government and Screen Australia, Play Now gives local developers the chance to pitch directly to international decision-makers, forge valuable partnerships, and showcase Australian games to the world.
And then there is Big Games Night Out – a massive free and family-friendly celebration of games at Fed Square. Now in its third year, Big Games Night Out is invitation for everyone to get involved in Games Week, from the inaugural Little Games Night Out for young families and the young at heart, and continuing until late for grown-ups.
Melbourne International Games Week’s home base, ACMI will host a range of special games programs, including the playable new exhibition Game Worlds.
