King’s Birthday 2025 Honours List

13 June 2025

Leaders from across Victoria’s creative industries have been recognised in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours list for their outstanding contributions to Australia’s creative and cultural life.

This year’s honours list recognised First Peoples media trailblazer, the late James Daniel Remedio, screen composer Bruce Rowland, Carnatic music pioneers the Iyer Brothers, and operatic sopranos Greta Bradman and Linda Thompson, alongside jewellery makers, DJs, visual artists, architectural and robotic designers, writers, long-serving music teachers, and others who have made a significant contribution to our creative industries and cultural life.

Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in the General Division

Mrs Dianne Blood (VIC)

For distinguished service to mechanical engineering through innovation and robotic design, and to diversity and inclusion.

Professor Corbett Marshall Lyon (VIC)

For distinguished service to architecture, to the arts as a benefactor and administrator, and to tertiary education.

The late Mr James Daniel Remedio (VIC)

For distinguished service to the First Nations broadcast media industry, and to the Indigenous community of Australia.

Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division

Ms Greta Jessie Bradman (VIC)

For significant service to the performing arts in a range of roles, and to psychology.

Mr Robert Allan McGauran (VIC)

For significant service to urban architectural design, planning and development, and to tertiary education.

Mr Kenneth Bruce Rowland (VIC)

For significant service to music as a composer, arranger and conductor.

Ms Linda Joy Thompson (VIC)

For significant service to the performing arts, particularly to opera.

Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division

Emeritus Professor Robert Baines (VIC)

For service to the creative arts, particularly as a jeweller, and to education.

Ms Louisa Catherine Coppel (VIC)

For service to the film and television industry. Louisa is currently Chair of the Docklands Studios Melbourne board.

Ms Jane Frances Crawley (VIC)

For service to the arts and cultural equity. Among her many contributions, Jane previously served as Executive Director, Creative Industries at Creative Victoria.

Mr Mark William Ford (VIC)

For service to music education, and to the arts.

Mr Bill Forrest (VIC)

For service to urban planning, the arts, and to the community.

Ms Roslyn Gail Greenwood (VIC)

For service to literature.

Mr Phillip Ivanov (VIC)

For service to the creative arts in Victoria.

Mr Gopinath Suryanarayanan Iyer (VIC)

For service to music.

Mr Ramnath Suryanarayanan Iyer (VIC)

For service to music.

Mrs Margaret Madden Morrison (VIC)

For service to the performing arts through theatre.

Mr Malcolm John Sanders (VIC)

For service to the visual and performing arts through administrative roles.

Dr Nur Shkembi (VIC)

For service to the visual arts.
