There’s a new exhibition in town that is set to light up ACMI this summer. Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature has today launched its world premiere exhibition at ACMI.
Comprising of five large scale video works, Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature is a sensory experience that explores the natural world and our place in it.
The immersive exhibition includes artworks executive produced by the late Edward R. Pressman and filmmaker Terrence Malick, as well as collaborations with narration by Cate Blanchett; poetry by Daisy Lafarge; and music by Jon Hopkins, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Meredith Monk, Howard Skempton and Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood.
The five works featured in the exhibition - Sanctuary of the Unseen Forest, Evolver, Distortions in Spacetime, The Tides Within Us and We Live in an Ocean of Air – take visitors on a journey from the earth, into the body, through space and back again.
Marshmallow Laser Feast are a London-based experiential art collective that use science, art, and technology to create sensory works that include kinetic sculpture, film and live performance. Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature is their first major exhibition in Australia.
The exhibition will also feature a suite of ACMI programs over summer, including film screenings, children’s workshops, and an industry panel discussion.
Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature is on show now until 14 April 2024. For tickets or more information, visit ACMI’s website: acmi.net.au.
