Striking artworks by First Nations artists for Geelong Arts Centre

24 May 2022

Creative work by Wadawurrung artist Kait James, and local First Nations artists Tarryn Love, Gerard Black and Mick Ryan will be a highlight of the Geelong Arts Centre Little Malop Street redevelopment.

The Geelong Arts Centre Little Malop Street redevelopment will be home to striking, major creative works by Fist Nations artists which will build a meaningful connection to Country, and will inspire young First Peoples and the wider Geelong community.

The following videos delve into the vision of each artist, and the approach by artist mentor Kiri Tawhai to support the artists and the creation of their works.

The artworks embed First Peoples’ culture and storytelling in the fabric and experience of the new building, and will come to life when the transformed Geelong Arts Centre is complete in 2023.
