Call out for inspiring leaders to join creative boards

23 July 2024

Creative leaders and skilled community members across Victoria from all backgrounds and walks of life are invited to express their interest in potentially joining one of Victoria’s creative industries boards. People who submit their interest will be included in a talent pool from which board appointments will be selected.

Victoria’s state-owned creative industries agencies play a key role in Victoria’s creative and cultural life. In addition to overseeing flagship institutions and venues, they provide leadership and support the development and growth of the broader creative industries sector. There are also several non-government entities in the creative industries sector to which the Minister for Creative Industries appoints including Victorian Opera, Heide Museum of Modern Art, RISING and ACCA.

The EOI process is open to people from across the state with a passion for the creative sector and relevant experience to contribute to these boards. People do not need to have experience working for an arts organisation in order to express interest.

As part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to ensuring that government boards reflect the rich diversity of the Victorian community, the EOI process welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people of all ages, women, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ people and rural and regional Victorians.

You can nominate a particular board, or boards, of interest or you can join the pool more broadly. As vacancies arise, Creative Victoria will review the pool to consider suitable candidates for appointment. Interviews and referee checks may be conducted for shortlisted candidates. Recommendations for appointments are made to the Minister for Creative Industries.

Information about the EOI process and full position description for board roles are now available on the Victorian Government’s Join a Public Board website. Expressions of interest must be made through the site.

EOIs close at 11:59 pm 31 August 2024.
