TeePee Studios formed in late 2016, founded by Peter Daly and Thomas Sutcliffe with a primary focus on the creation of visual effects and production of film media.
During 2017 TeePee Studios evolved into a full scale digital media production company, producing and developing television content, visual effects and video games. The studio’s objective is to work alongside world-class Australian creatives to develop film, television and video game productions that serve thought-provoking narratives and entertaining characters that appeal to audiences around the globe.
Artists Cameron Pitt-Downton and Jordon Nelson of TeePee Studios will spend three months investigating ways to improve and streamline their workflows to increase productivity and efficiency as their film and games development workload increases. This will include researching and testing new software, hardware and tools, training to expand their technical skills and a redesign of their internal network to reduce the impact of time-intensive processes such as rendering. They will share their learnings with other companies working in the VFX and digital games space.

What does being awarded a Creators Fund grant mean to you?
For us, it means a developed pipeline, and hopefully a fix for our current network infrastructure. Since we started TeePee Studios, we’ve been constantly struggling with the pipeline and network setup we had from the beginning. The Creators Fund grant gives us three months to rebuild and restructure with the future in mind.
How important is 'time' to you, as an artist/creative professional?
Time is precious in any creative industry, VFX is no different. As VFX artists time is our most sought-after resource and to have 3 months of time provided to us is incredibly useful.
What are you most looking forward to over the months ahead?
Achieving results. The most satisfying way to end a research period is with an answer to the question we initially asked. Though results aside, being afforded this time to research, test and implement different things is extremely exciting.
Where would like to see yourself at the end of this process? How do you anticipate your career will develop as a result?
We’re expecting that the effect on TeePee Studios will be huge. Having the ability to handle larger client jobs, scaling up or down without hassle on the technical side and using a set pipeline of standard software will have a major positive impact on our business. Additionally, having the skills to develop and maintain our pipeline and infrastructure will be a huge positive for us as individual artists.
