The Victorian Government provides a suite of COVID-19 funding support for Victorian businesses, including programs relevant to eligible creative businesses. Check out the following programs:

Now open – Business Stimulus Package

The Victorian Government’s $200 million stimulus package is designed to support businesses and entice Victorians to get back to enjoying the best of our state’s entertainment and hospitality.

Current opportunities relevant to the creative industries:

Victorian Entertainment Program

Open now, the Victorian Government’s $30 million Victorian Entertainment Program encourages Victorians to get out and enjoy a wide range of arts and entertainment experiences.

Through the program, customers can claim back 25 per cent on eligible entertainment purchases over $40. Eligible experiences include:

  • theatre, live music and performing arts
  • cinema
  • museums and galleries
  • conferences, exhibitions and other events

Rebates can be claimed for entertainment experiences anywhere in Victoria, any day of the week.

Business Recovery and Resilience Mentoring Program

This program provides access to mentoring of up to four, two-hour sessions to help eligible small business – including those in the creative industries – navigate the challenges of COVID-19 and support owners and staff.

Delivered with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, over 11,000 mentoring sessions have been held with more than 5,500 businesses to date.

Small Business Ventilation Program

To reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and improve ventilation in areas accessed by customers, the Victorian Government is providing support to public facing small businesses through the Small Business Ventilation Program.

Under the program, two types of support are available:

  1. Ventilation Rebate A $500 rebate for public facing small businesses to take immediate actions such as purchasing equipment or hiring a qualified tradesperson to undertake minor services to improve ventilation in areas accessible to customers.
  1. Ventilation Grant Matched grants from $1000 to $5000 to enable public facing small businesses who employ staff to invest in larger projects to improve ventilation such as building works, engaging professional services or equipment in areas accessible to customers.

Applications are  now open until 11:59pm Friday 24 June 2022 or when funds are fully allocated, whichever comes first. Read more about ventilation below.

Small Business Digital Adaptation Program

A $1,200 rebate for businesses to access a range of digital business tools to help modernise their operations.

These could include:

  • online menus and ordering systems
  • invoicing
  • stock and business management tools
  • website and e-commerce platforms.

This third round of the program will offer a further $5 million in rebates.

Applications are now open until 11.59pm on 18 July 2022 or until the program’s funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

Crisis support for creative workers

  • Support Act - Crisis Relief Grants– one-off cash grants of $2,000 ($2,700 for families with dependent children) for artists, crew and other live performance workers across music, theatre, dance and circus who have been affected by COVID-19. Apply now.
