Geelong Arts Centre opened in 1981 and provides access to a wide range of arts experiences for audiences in the Geelong and Barwon region. The Geelong Arts Centre promotes a wide range of performing arts activities through the hiring of its facilities, management of visiting performances, and fostering of local artists and companies.
Geelong Arts Centre comprises:
- Two theatres - Playhouse Theatre (formerly the Ford Theatre) and Drama Theatre (formerly the Blakiston Theatre);
- Several studios;
- Meeting rooms; and
- Catering facilities.
Geelong Arts Centre presents a range of performances, family events and education programs as well as one-off comedy and film events.
