Attendance at cultural venues and events demonstrates the value placed by Victorians through their willingness to engage with a wide range of activity.
The ABS publishes Attendance at Selected Cultural Venues and Events (ABS 4114.0) based on a national household survey undertaken every four years.
The number of Victorians, and the proportion of Victorians, who attend at least one venue or event each year have increased over the history of this survey.
The survey records details on the frequency of visits and characteristics of people, 15 years and older, who attend a range of cultural venues and events including libraries, archives, museums, various categories of music and performing arts performances, and cinemas.
