Arts Centre Melbourne are offering current and aspiring theatre technicians living in the Horsham and Shepparton regions free specialist training to develop their skills.
Tech Connect participants will spend 12-weeks working in local venues alongside experts from Arts Centre Melbourne. Participants will learn the latest theatre technologies and how to operate world-class equipment before applying their knowledge during practical sessions held at Arts Centre Melbourne, Australia’s busiest performing arts centre.
Participants will receive their industry-accredited white-card certification upon completion and receive training via Arts Centre Melbourne’s Arts Wellbeing Collective, focusing on maintaining positive mental health while navigating a career in the creative sector.
Through Tech Connect, experienced theatre technicians who have been nominated by their local Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centre’s member venue, will also be supported to undertake a Certificate III in Live Production and Services.
People currently working in technical roles in theatres and festivals, as well as young people with an interest in working in the entertainment industry are encouraged to apply.
