ACMI’s popular 2018 Wonderland exhibition won two prestigious awards at this year’s Museums and the Web GLAMi Awards in Boston, USA.

Alice exhibition

The interactive exhibition, which celebrated the many ways the Alice in Wonderland story has been told on screen, was conceived and created in Melbourne. It received GLAMi’s ‘Best In Show’ award as well as top honours in the Exhibition, Media or Experience: Immersive category.

Featuring more than 300 physical objects, ACMI worked with three local companies to incorporate interactive technology and bring the exhibition to life.

Grumpy Sailor developed the 360-degree immersive ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party,’ Sandpit designed the exhibition’s interactive map and post-visit content while Mosster Studio were responsible for the ‘Queen’s Croquet Ground’, animating visitors faces to handmade card soldiers.

Having captivated audiences in Melbourne in 2018, the Wonderland exhibition begins its international tour this year. It opens on 13 April in Singapore with more locations to follow.
