The program, run by for Museums Australia (Victoria), supports museums to create inspiring, enjoyable and informative exhibitions and displays by providing access to a roving curator who works with the organisation to develop their project.

The program is open to legally constituted museums based in Victoria that are collection based, publicly accessible, feature regular weekly opening hours, and have been operating for at least two years. Private museums may apply providing the project involves community engagement, and significant and lasting community benefit is demonstrated.

Successful applicants will receive mentoring and assistance with their exhibition development. They will still be responsible for leading and managing their own project.

Applicants will need to be able to devote time to working collaboratively with the roving curator, who will spend three days on site with them and provide follow up support equivalent to another three days.

The Museums Australia (Victoria) Exhibitions Sub-Committee will select up to four applicants to participate in this year’s program. The program is supported by Creative Victoria.

Applications for the Roving Curators program close 5pm, Thursday 18 October 2018.
