APRA AMCOS will present a one-day workshop on making music for video games as part of Melbourne International Games Week 2018.
High Score: Composition and Sound Art for Gaming will be presented at The Arcade on Saturday 20 October.
The full-day workshop and networking event, hosted by Angharad 'Rad' Yeoof ABC ME’s Spawn Point, will feature presentations on both the creative and professional sides of the industry.
The keynote address will be delivered by London-based composer and arranger Kevin Penkin, who has collaborated on a number of Japanese video games with legendary Final Fantasy Series composer Nobuo Uematsu. Kevin also scored the acclaimed anime series Made in Abyss.
The program will feature a mix of quick talks on artificial intelligence and working with developers, and in-depth industry panels covering royalties, grants, licensing and other essential topics.
Industry experts will include representatives from Remote Control Records, Film Victoria, Pozible, Otherworld Agency and more.
High Score: Composition and Sound Art for Gaming is supported by Creative Victoria through the Music Works Music Under Wings program.
Tickets are $60 for APRA AMCOS members and $80 for non-members (includes lunch).
Melbourne International Games Week runs from 20-28 October.
