How does your board prepare for the future? How does it know it's doing a good job and what is its role in monitoring the organisation's artistic health?
These are some of the questions that will be tackled through the Australia Council's Arts Governance Program, an initiative designed to help arts organisation leaders to enhance their governance practices through a program tailored specifically to the arts.
The Australia Council will present two program streams: a full-day workshop for small-to-medium arts organisations and a webinar series.
The interactive workshop will see leaders of Australian arts organisations explore best practice, share their experiences and take part in a range of practical activities, exploring key themes such as the board's role in the artistic health of the organisation and risk optimisation.
Two Melbourne workshops are currently slated, for Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 August. The cost is $350 per organisation for a maximum of three people. Places are limited so interested parties are advised to register as soon as possible via the Australia Council website.
The Arts Governance Program webinar series will explore in further detail key arts governance topics. Each webinar will take the form of a 45-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes for Q&A, and participants will receive written responses to questions submitted during the webinar as well as relevant follow-up materials.
