Australian photographers are invited to submit entries for the 2017 Head On Photo Awards, a global competition offering a $50,000 prize pool.

The Head On Photo Awards represent a selection of the best work from emerging and established photographers across four categories: Portrait, Landscape, Mobile and Student.

Each category is open to international submissions, except for the Student category. The Head On Student Prize is open exclusively to Australia's young photographers (school years K-12).

All finalists will be exhibited in the Head On Photo Festival 2017, Australia's premier event of its kind.

Finalists will be exhibited at the Museum of Sydney (Portrait, Mobile, Student) or the NSW Parliament (Landscape) as part of the Head On Photo Festival in May 2017. As in previous years, the exhibitions may also tour to major festivals internationally including; Photoville (New York), Indian Photo Festival Hyderabad, Auckland Festival of Photography.

The exhibition will be reviewed by Getty Images' creative team, who may invite selected photographers to contribute to Getty Images or iStock by Getty Images.

Entry fees vary. Entries to the Student category are $1. Other categories vary from $25 to $30. Check the website for full terms and conditions.
