10 March 2017
The Australia Council for the Arts is offering presenters and programmers an opportunity to join a delegation to the 2017 YIRRAMBOI First Nations Arts Festival.
Running from 5–14 May 2017, YIRRAMBOI is a gathering place, a creative lab, a skills sharing platform, an intergenerational exchange for First Nations people that simultaneously engages non-Indigenous audiences in the presentation of new work and collective events.
The Australia Council delegation will spend the final four nights of the festival immersing themselves in First Nations arts and culture. Delegates will have the opportunity to see and discuss work with colleagues, network and develop curatorial capacity in First Nations arts.
The Council is looking for presenters and programmers who are seeking authentic experiences for their audiences and might not otherwise have the opportunity to see a diverse range of First Nations work.
The Australia Council will arrange and cover return flights, provide four nights' accommodation in a central location and supply tickets to nominated events. Any additional costs will be borne by the participant.
Applications will be assessed on:
- * How the opportunity delivers on your audience development goals
- * How the opportunity will strengthen your capacity as an arts professional and/or organisation to deliver your audience development goals
- * The relevance and timeliness of the proposed opportunity in delivering your audience development goals
- * The ability of you and/ or your organisation to effectively implement change
Expressions of interest close on Tuesday 14 March.
