1 June 2016
In June 2018, as part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces series, the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) will present Masterworks from MoMA, an extraordinary exhibition featuring modern and contemporary artworks from New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Australia House was opened at the 5th Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale in 2012. It consists of accommodation and gallery spaces to enable artists in residence to stay, work, and exhibit as well as to facilitate community activities and exchanges between Australia and Japan.
This year, not only visual artists but also performance artists, writers, researchers, art educators and people of all art forms are encouraged to apply.
The program offers opportunities to stay at Australia House for up to three weeks and to experience the Echigo-Tsumari Art Field – a 760 square kilometre landscape populated by art installations - and undertake exchanges with the local people in Urada Village where the Australia House is located.
The selected applicant(s) will stay in Australia House for up to three weeks between mid-May and mid-June or between late August and the end of October, 2017.
The residency includes funds for travel and ancillary costs, with additional funds available for production costs. A per diem is also provided.
Applications close on Wednesday 15 March 2017.
