9 September 2016

The Australian Children's Music Foundation (ACMF) has launched its 14th Annual National Songwriting Competition for students.

Boy playing guitar

School age students from across Australia are invited to enter an original song for the chance to win a share of thousands of dollars of musical equipment, tuition and other prizes. Simply by using your phone, computer, tablet or other device, students can record themselves singing their very own original song. They can enter as an individual or get their whole class involved!

Teachers and parents are encouraged to use this opportunity to develop children's learning, improve self-esteem, and encourage individuality and self-expression.

The ACMF was founded in 2002 by Don Spencer OAM to address the needs of children who were not getting the benefits of music education. To date, the ACMF has donated over $850,000 worth of musical instruments and equipment through our programs, and given over 225,000 free music lessons.

Entries close at midnight Thursday 20 October 2016.

Entry to the competition is free.
