Creative Space is a new initiative from Flying Fruit Fly Circus, the national youth circus based in Albury on the Victorian/NSW border.

Flying Fruit Fly Circus

Flying Fruit Fly Circus

A unique collaborative program, Creative Space invites individual artists, groups and small-scale companies to work at the circus for an agreed period of time to create circus and physical theatre works.

Creative Space offers:

  • A space to create and develop work and ideas in Flying Fruit Fly Circus' fully equipped state-of-the-art training facility close to the Murray River in Albury, with use of apparatus and access to professional staff for guidance and mentoring.
  • Assistance to arrange local accommodation.
  • Support letters to strengthen potential grant applications.

Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the Fruit Fly community through skills sharing, knowledge and experience. They will work with Flying Fruit Fly students aged between eight and 19 by teaching classes or leading workshops, to be agreed in advance. At the conclusion of their residency they will also present one informal showing of the new  work to the Fruit Fly community.

Creative Space supports emerging and established artists (individuals or groups) with a demonstrated level of competence or professional history. Applicants are asked to give a history of their own creative endeavours in addition to a project proposal.

Applications close on Friday 28 October 2016
