The Victorian Government has made an unprecedented investment in the state's music future with the launch of Music Under Wings, a $1.2 million professional development program for emerging contemporary music artists, industry personnel, live music events and venues.

The multi-faceted, three year program will offer mentoring by established musicians and industry leaders, as well as masterclasses, skills development programs and business development training for anyone in the early stages of their music career – including performers, promoters, producers, technicians and more.

Part of the $22.2 million Music Works initiative, Music Under Wings will offer a suite of programs and activities that will support Victoria's music industry to grow at both an individual and industry-wide level.

Victorian non-profit youth music organisation, The Push has partnered with the Victorian Government to deliver Music Under Wings. The Push's annual Face the Music conference will be a key component of the program.

Peak industry body, Music Victoria will also manage a specialist Live Music Professional Development program which will support small music venues and independent promoters, especially those in regional Victoria, to build sustainable businesses.
