The Travel Fund provides grants of up to $3,000 to support people working in the literary sector including writers, editors, publishers and librarians enhance their work through travel.

Recipients include respected translator Lilit Thwaites travelling to Spain source new translations; Arts Book Publisher Fayen d'Evie,  travelling to USA for a mentorship with Dr Georgina Kleege, and poet Emilie Zoey Baker travelling to London to work with youth slam organisation Apples and Snakes.

David Ryding, Director of the City of Literature Office, said Melbourne's literary sector is delighted with the response from the Travel Fund. 

"These 22 applicants, picked from a strong round, display why we are a City of Literature and will prove to the rest of the world why we are one of the preeminent cities of literature in the UNESCO network," said David.

This was the last round of the Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature Travel fund but not the last opportunity to be offered by the Office.
