The Regional Development program provides Victorian regional communities with access to a wide variety of quality arts experiences. It supports Victoria's network of regional art galleries and performing arts centres, as well as professional touring activity across the State.

The program currently has four funding categories:

Regional Partnerships - support for regional art galleries and performing arts centres, provided through multi-year agreements with local government authorities that own and operate most of the facilities.

Small Regional Presenters – support for regional communities to program and present shows

Touring Victoria - support for touring a professional production, performance, exhibition or program to regional and outer-metropolitan Victoria.

The Regional Coworking Spaces and Creative Places Pilot Program focuses on projects to activate existing spaces or create new places for creatives in regional Victoria. This pilot program is not restricted to infrastructure projects and seeks to encourage projects that develop or enhances new or existing collaboration and creative opportunities.

    Other support

To further encourage regional arts activity, Creative Victoria also runs the Indemnification Scheme to mitigate risk for presenters of visual arts exhibitions.

The Indemnification Scheme - provides Government-backed insurance for temporary exhibitions at Victorian public galleries and museums. Participating institutions will have undergone a satisfactory risk management and site accreditation assessment.
