    The Creative Infrastructure Support Program is an open, competitive grant round that provides support towards projects to reopen or adapt existing creative spaces for professional creatives who have been affected by COVID-19 and supports creatives with equipment or rental subsidies. This program is open to projects in eight local government areas (LGAs) across the state with high levels of creative activity (refer to eligibility in the guidelines below).

    Funding available

    Applications may be accepted for requests between $3,000 to $25,000 depending on the project type.

    Stream 1:  Applications may be accepted for requests up to $25,000 for infrastructure upgrades, rental subsidy, and/or equipment for creative spaces led and run by First Peoples.

    Stream 2: Applications may be accepted for requests up to $25,000 for infrastructure upgrades, rental subsidy, and/or equipment for collectives, micro-organisations, businesses and LGAs .

    Stream 3: Applications may be accepted for requests up to $3,000 for equipment and/or rental subsidies only for sole traders, freelancers and businesses.

    The funds are to be distributed in the 2020/21 financial year.

    Who can apply

    • Individuals
    • Organisations including arts, creative industries, community and local government.

    The program is restricted to Victorian sole traders, businesses and Councils in the LGAs identified as having high creative activity and low levels of affordability. These local government areas are:

    • City of Yarra;
    • City of Moreland;
    • City of Port Philip;
    • City of Melbourne;
    • Ballarat City Council;
    • City of Greater Geelong;
    • Mt Alexander Shire; and
    • Surf Coast Shire.

    The project must involve or benefit Victorian-based creative practitioners, creative organisations or creative collectives.

    Key dates

    Round closes: 5pm, 22 March 2021.

    It takes approximately 8 weeks from closing date until funding results are available and is for activity commencing after 1 June 2021.
