Michelle has been designing and making jewellery for over 20 years. She initially trained as a painter then switched to 3D design and, as a result, her jewellery pieces are often more sculptural than wearable.
After a recent break, she was pulled out of retirement following a personal tragedy. She was driven by her grief to create the exhibited piece ‘Death by Sea’. Made by hand of sterling silver, it symbolises her relationships with those concerned and the closure we feel floating around us.
She plans to develop more one-off pieces inspired by events, people and places, taking her inspiration from wide sources including the ocean depths and outer space.
