Born in Melbourne, Martin Grant launched his first ready-to-wear collection aged 16. Four years later he was named Cointreau Young Designer of the Year. After a brief period studying sculpture at the Victorian College of the Arts, Grant established his studio in Paris and produced his first runway show in the heart of the Marais district. Grant’s silhouettes stand out for their pure lines that are both simple and spectacular and his work reflects a refined understanding of structure and volume.
Grant has also collaborated with major luxury brands. For 10 years he was the artistic director of Barney's Private Label for Barneys New York, and for Agnona (The Ermenegildo Zegna group). Grant also created capsule collections for Moncler. In 2005, the National Gallery of Victoria held an exhibition celebrating Martin Grant's work and achievements. Australia's national airline, Qantas, also called on Grant to design the company's uniform. Martin Grant's clients include Cate Blanchett, Lee Radziwill, Juliette Binoche, Tilda Swinton, Blake Lively, Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson and Eva Longoria.
