Kim Wiebenga is a maker of contemporary ready-to-wear and bespoke millinery, specialising in modern, sculptural adornments which are both elegant and engaging. Formally trained in Fine Arts, she handcrafts luxury headwear and mixed media accessories for editorial, high fashion and racing clientele. Her millinery has been exhibited worldwide and has gone on to receive recognition and awards within associated industries including the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Her ‘Neon adornments’ is about finding and crafting beauty from obscure materials in a changing urban world. The exhibit combines age-old, industrial and modern techniques in homage to this evolution.
