Colourful pattern

Georgia Chapman

In her Melbourne studio, textile artisan Georgia Chapman designs fabrics that have attracted a loyal following since she decided to turn her passion for textiles into a business. Chapman researches traditional motifs and patterns, drawing on historical and cultural sources. She then reinterprets them, combining images, colours and textures creating new handprinted and digital print fabrics for her bespoke collections. Natural printed fabrics in crêpe de chine, georgette, velvet devoré, silks and knitted jacquards in rich colours and textures have become her signature over the last twenty years.  Chapman creates ranges with timeless simplicity, function and beauty for the modern world, and has a passion for design, craftsmanship and the handmade.
