Established in 1998, Phillip Adams’ BalletLab is a visionary Melbourne dance company and a leader in innovative and experimental Australian dance practice. The company extends the boundaries of contemporary dance practice by stimulating new languages between art forms.
Adams’ process draws on collaboration through hybrid mediums of music, design, fashion, architecture, cinema and visual arts engaging with the unorthodox, queer and popular culture. Adams has played a leading role in choreography’s curation into Australian museums and galleries including MONA, NGV and MPavilion. Phillip Adams is the recipient of the 2018 Australia Council Award for Dance.
