Recognition showcases the extraordinary creativity and unique perspectives of First Peoples designers and artists from Melbourne. Complementing the exhibition, which traverses eveningwear, swimwear, men’s and women’s wear, jewellery and accessories, is the premiere screening of Recognition, a First Peoples fashion film, curated by creative director Philip Boon and directed by the award-winning Helen Clemens.

Celebrating Melbourne’s artisans and thriving trade of bespoke craftsmanship, WE ARE LUXURY is an exhibition of over 40 creatives who represent a ‘new luxury’, born in Melbourne. Handpicked by curator and creative director Virginia Dowzer, the exhibition features visionary designers who embody this global movement such as Martin Grant, Toni Maticevski and Linda Jackson. This collection also includes some signature pieces from the world of stage and screen as well as exclusive jewellery ranging from the fine to the experimental.

Melbourne’s emerging fashion labels will be presented through the Australian Fashion Council’s CURATED program. The collections celebrate locally sourced materials, bespoke tailoring, sustainable textiles, hand embellishments and artist collaborations. Visitors can also purchase a capsule collection at the AFC Curated Shop.
