The Melbourne City of Literature Office is seeking writers to help create a new 'Walking the City of Literature' App.

In 2018, it will be 10 years since Melbourne was designated a UNESCO City of Literature. As part of the celebrations, the Melbourne City of Literature Office is developing a self-guided walking app for visitors and tourists to use.

The Office is seeking expressions of interest from writers to write one of the three walks that will be hosted within the app.

The Office is looking for a balance between what a tourist would need from such an app and the requirement to highlight Melbourne as a city of literature – celebrating our status and entertaining the walkers, and fulfilling the City of Literature Office mantra to surprise and delight, without replicating any existing walking tours.

There is a minimum fee of $2000 for the selected writers, open to further negotiation.

To apply, writers are asked to provide:
* A pitch (250 words)
* A start and finish place for their walk, and a few of the proposed stops (optional)

* A one page CV on an attached PDF

Expressions of interest are due by 5pm on Monday 29 May and should be submitted via email to project@cityofliterature.com.au
