On Thursday 18 May, the Municipal Association of Victoria will host an Arts Culture Workshop to explore the Creative State, the Victorian Government's creative industries strategy, and the opportunities it presents for local government.

The workshop has been designed to inform and update those responsible for councils' arts sector development, budgets and programs.

Among Creative State's 40 actions is a new partnership with the Municipal Association of Victoria, including the appointment of an Arts and Culture position within the association. This workshop is one of the first outcomes of this new relationship.

Featuring representatives from Creative Victoria and other arts industry peak bodies, the event will help participants to understand how Creative State could be considered in their strategic planning.

Hear from Jane Crawley, Director, Arts Investment Creative Victoria; Andy Miller, General Manager, Multicultural Arts Victoria and Co-convenor AICV Arts Industry Council (Victoria); Veronica Pardo, Executive Director, Arts Access Victoria; Patrick Donovan, CEO, Music Victoria; Joe Toohey, Director, Regional Arts Victoria; Anne Robertson, Executive Officer, Public Galleries Association of Victoria; Jenny Ryssenbeek, Executive Officer, Victorian Association of Performing Arts Centres, and Francesca Valmorbida, Arts and Culture Policy Advisor, Municipal Association.

Stay for lunch so that you can meet your industry colleagues and speak with leaders about your plans.
