Scholarships are available to assist Indigenous and regional Victorians to attend the Face the Music summit in Melbourne this November.
Face the Music is Victoria’s peak music industry conference and showcase, running from 23-24 November as part of Melbourne Music Week.
The event brings together artists and industry professionals for two days of talks, workshops and live music. International guests and local luminaries will be on hand to discuss current trends and future forecasts in music, against a backdrop of networking events and showcase performances.
Indigenous Victorians and people living in regional Victoria are invited to apply for a scholarship to attend Face the Music, with additional support available to help with travel costs.
The scholarships are funded through the Music Under Wings program, a $1.6 million professional development program for emerging contemporary music artists, industry personnel, live music events and venues. Music Under Wings is managed by APRA AMCOS, The Push and Music Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government.
- Music Under Wings – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ScholarshipMusic Under Wings Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships will be awarded to ten individuals of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent. Successful applicants will be encouraged to apply for further workshop and special meeting opportunities.
- Music Under Wings – Regional Participation Scholarship
Music Under Wings Regional Participation Scholarships will be awarded to ten individuals who reside in regional Victoria.
Applications for the scholarships may be made by not only artists but also industry practitioners working in a variety of fields in creative industries.
There are no age restrictions for the scholarships, however applicants must reside in Victoria. Successful applicants will receive one full summit pass to Face The Music as well as financial support for travel to and from the summit (if required) to the value of a VLine/Myki pass.
