Hobsons Bay City Council have opened applications for their arts and events grants, to support activities in the Hobsons Bay area over the next 12 months.
Funding rounds are now open in the categories of Local Events and Festivals, Small/Short Lead Events, Major Events and Special Event Sponsorships, and creative professionals and organisations are invited to apply.
The Local Events and Festivals Fund provides grants of up to $10,000 for events primarily attracting local audiences that enhance the quality of life of residents, celebrate local identity and culture and provide a range of community benefits including participation, wellbeing and community connections.
The Small/Short Lead Events Fund provides grants of up to $1000 to support small events that provide community benefits, including those held by special interest groups and/or which attract visitors to the municipality.
The Major Event Sponsorship fund provides grants of up to $25,000 for major events generating substantial community, tourism and economic outcomes, including visitation, and which increase the profile of the city.
The Special Event Sponsorship fund is aimed at major events with the ability to generate substantial community, economic and tourism benefits. The event is likely to have a state, national or international profile and would attract visitors to the municipality. Potential applicants should discuss their proposal with the Hobsons Bay City Council Events Unit in the six months prior to the event date.
Some grant applications close on Friday 30 June while others are open year-round.
