Australia Day honours have been bestowed on Victoria's creative community.

Endowed by the Governor General of Australia, the Australia Day Honours recognise great contributions to our nation. We are delighted to see so many Victorians among the honourees.

Congratulations to Maria Myers AO and Alan Myers AO, who have been named Companions (AC) in the general Division of the Order of Australia. Both Mr and Mrs Myers are renowned philanthropists who have enriched the Victorian arts landscape with their generous patronage. Currently, Mrs Myers is serving as Board Member of the Library Board of Victoria (SLV) and Chair of the Foundation Council. Mr Myers is a Former President of the Council of Trustees of the NGV.

  • Anne Kantor – philanthropist
  • Robert Kirby - co-Chairman and co-Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Village Roadshow, patron of the Arts Centre Melbourne and National Gallery of Victoria

Member (AM) in the Order of Australia

  • Bronte Adams – member of the Creative Industries Taskforce and Deputy Chair Melbourne University Publishing
  • Tina Arena – Victorian-born entertainer
  • John Gollings –  photographer
  • Ann James – children's author/illustrator and co-founder of the children's literature centre Books Illustrated
  • Ann Haddon – co-founder of children's literature centre Books Illustrated
  • Shane Howard –  musician
  • Sally Mays – pianist, accompanist, composer, music educator and editor

Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia

  • Dr Jane Carolan –  historian
  • Keith Ford - musician and musical director
  • Associate Professor Donald Garden - President of the Royal Historical Society of Victoria
  • Donald Goldsworthy – architect and urban design consultant
  • Magaret Griffiths – music educator
  • Samuel Johnson –  actor
  • Gerald Keuneman – musician, conductor and music educator
  • Anthony Monley - Director, Art Building Children's Dreams Australia
  • Michael Mullins - performance artist
  • Railbeart Macneish - Illustrator, writer and set designer
  • Dr Brian McFarlane - film critic, reviewer and author
  • Eugene O'Rourke - broadcaster and community radio supporter
  • Margaret Richards - Chair Benalla Art Gallery Special Committee, dedicated volunteer to a number of  organisations including the Benalla Performing Arts and Convention Centre
