Sixteen regional communities across Victoria will benefit from $90,000 funding injection through the Small Regional Presenters program.

Designed to bring creative inspiration to every corner of the state, Small Regional Presenters provides grants to not-for-profit arts groups and societies, venues and local councils who wish to present professional performing arts and literary events and experiences in their communities.

The inaugural round of funding will support a diverse slate of regional programming, from theatre to live music and West End comedy.

The Potato Shed in Drysdale will present a full season of theatre in 2017 with Small Regional Presenters funding, while the Rex Theatre in Charlton hosts the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow.

A Small Regional Presenters grant will also fund a literary event at the Maryborough Railway Station featuring authors Robyn Davidson and Raimond Gaita.

The program will also support presentations r of the 2017 Café Culture series in Toora, Wangaratta North, Orbost, Ruffy, Mallacoota, Cobram, Bena and Tyers.

Small Regional Presenters builds on existing Victorian Government programs that support Victorian arts companies and producers to embark on regional tours. It is part of the Victorian Government's $20 million Regional Arts Package, delivered in the 2015-16 State Budget.

Presentation of a series of five chamber music concerts in Geelong in 2017.

Gannawarra Shire Council, $10,000
Presentation of Now Showing in Gannawarra, a performance program staged in various locations across Gannawarra Shire in 2017. Shows will include Grigoryan Brothers, Hannie Rayson's Hello Beautiful, Finucane & Smith's Exotic Lives of Lola Montez, Michaela Burger and Greg Wain's Exploring Edith, and Hit Productions' Glorious!

Presentation of the Carolyn Theatre's 2017 Autumn Season in Cororooke. Performances will include EmotionWork's Carmen, Danish music performers Afenginn, Aboriginal artist Archie Roach, and Galit Klas performing with Alan Kogosowski.
