The Australia Council is seeking arts industry professionals to join peer assessment panels that will help to judge the merits of grant applications.

A peer needs to have sufficient knowledge and experience of the arts sector to make a fair and informed assessment of applications for funding. They could gain this knowledge and experience as a practicing artist, working as an arts professional or by advising the arts sector.

The Australia Council is committed to forming diverse and balanced panels, and working with peers across Australia who are representative of geography, cultural backgrounds, age, gender and ability.

All applications will be reviewed by Council staff to shortlist a new pool of Peers, for approval by the Board of the Australia Council in March 2017.

The terms of the new peer assessors will commence in May 2017 and run for up to three years.
