As reported by Architecture Australia, more than 19,800 jobs in architectural services were created in the last twelve months.

Recruitment agency Hays says, "A busy residential construction market as well as large urban regeneration projects and retail, aged care and healthcare developments have created demand for architects and design engineers in NSW, Victoria, the ACT and Queensland."

Architects and drafters with retail experience are also in high demand for international retail projects, according to Hays. Hays also found design architects, project architects with skills in architecture software systems BIM and Revit, Revit drafters, senior architects, town planners and interior designers with Revit skills were in demand in the July to September 2016 quarter.
