Melbourne International Design Week will present a leading roster of Melbourne design talent at the inaugural Dubai Design Week, from 26-31 October 2015.

The Melbourne Lights Up! showcase is curated by Anne-Maree Sargeant of Snap, a creative production agency that connects creatives with business opportunities.

Sargeant has selected three local lighting designers to travel to Dubai:

  • Christopher Boots, renowned for bespoke, handmade lighting with signature quartz crystals;
  • André Hnatojko's, who creates elegant silhouette pendant lighting; and
  • Jonathan Ben-Tovim, who is responsible for the geometric chandeliers made at Ben-Tovim Design.

"Christopher Boots, André Hnatojko and Jonathan Ben-Tovim established their brands four years ago and their collections are presently designed and made in Melbourne, Australia. Their work has been included in leading internationally acclaimed design projects, and I selected them not only based on their practice, but for being stellar ambassadors of Melbourne design," says Sargeant.

Melbourne International Design Week is one of six international partners for the inaugural Dubai Design Week, including Abierto Mexicano de Diseño; Beijing Design Week; Helsinki Design Week; Istanbul Design Week and San Francisco Design Week.
