Founded in 1995, Chunky Move has become one of the most provocative and exhilarating dance companies in Australia.

Exploring the boundaries of dance, on stage and through experimental new media works, the Victorian organisation has delivered a host of celebrated productions including I Want to Dance Better at Parties (2006) and Glow (2007).

Critically acclaimed, Chunky Move has received various plaudit 's over the years including the 2005 Bessie Award for Choreography for the production Tense Dave. Their production of Mix Tape took the 2010 Green Room Award for Best Choreography (Stephanie Lake) and Best Male Dancer (Timothy Ohl). In 2015, Chunky Move's Green Room Awards included Best Visual Design and Best Music, Sound Design & Performance for Princess and Best Female Dancer for Complexity of Belonging (Lauren Langlois).

The company has a significant international touring profile and has visited a dozen countries including the United States of America, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Colombia and the United Kingdom. In Melbourne, they provide mentoring and public workshops to inspire and support an exciting and evolving dance culture.

As they celebrate their 20th anniversary, Chunky Move have acknowledged their benefactors and asked that people continue to support the company.
